Children need healthy, wholesome foods
Healthy Nutrition for Growing Children
Children need healthy, wholesome foods for proper growth and development. We encourage parents to provide a balanced, nutritious diet at home, including fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, and home-prepared snacks. At school, we support this effort by providing healthy, hygienic snacks daily, helping children develop good eating habits and understand the importance of nutritious food from an early age.
Understanding children’s behaviour
Behaviour Guidance
At Little Scholars, we understand that every child is unique. Children express their feelings, needs, and curiosity through behaviour. Our role is to guide them with patience, care, and positive reinforcement, helping them develop self-discipline, confidence, and good values in a supportive environment.
Preferred Practices
Our teachers follow these approved and child-friendly practices:
-
Positive verbal encouragement and gentle gestures to reinforce good behaviour
-
Calm redirection when behaviour is inappropriate, without fear or force
-
One clear verbal instruction (ensuring the child understands), followed by gentle physical guidance if required
-
Teaching and practicing expected behaviours to help children build habits and self-discipline
-
Offering age-appropriate choices and supporting children to complete tasks independently
Prohibited Practices
To ensure a safe, dignified, and child-friendly environment, the following are strictly prohibited at all times:
-
Any form of corporal punishment (hitting, spanking, shaking, or physical force)
-
Harsh, humiliating, or degrading actions including yelling, threatening, or verbal abuse
-
Denial of basic needs such as food, water, rest, clothing, or comfort
-
Confining a child in a locked room or isolated space
-
Locking exits or restricting movement for the purpose of confinement
